Project Info
The Fanshawe Student Union Presidential Campaign by Bernardo is a comprehensive project encompassing web development, branding, photography, and advertising. The goal of this campaign is to create marketing materials and website content to promote Bernardo's candidacy for the FSU elections. The project reached over 1,000 students, gained popularity across multiple platforms, and generated more than 5,000 engagements and interactions.
The Process
Extensive research, preliminary sketches, layout conceptualization, and color selection were conducted to establish the overall visual identity of the campaign. A textured background photo representing Bernardo's journey was selected, along with a blue and orange color scheme and slanted box themes for the main design composition. These elements were chosen to convey professionalism, trustworthiness, and energy, the core pillars of Bernardo's campaign. The theme was then implemented across both digital and print media.
Tools Used
For the design aspect, I primarily used Adobe Illustrator for wireframing and visual branding, while Adobe Photoshop was used for portrait photo retouching. In the photography process, I utilized Nikon cameras and Yongnuo Speedlites with softbox attachments to achieve a professional look. For web development, I used MS Visual Studio Code for front-end development with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and GitHub for managing remote repositories. Additionally, I deployed my website live through Web Hosting Canada.
